Media Release
Local REALTORS® work to Improve Quality of Life in Brampton
Brampton, ON – Local REALTORS® are launching a public awareness campaign focused on improving Quality of Life in Brampton, by supporting growth that encourages economic vitality, provides housing opportunities and builds communities with good schools and safe neighbourhoods.
“Local REALTORS® have adopted a Quality of Life program to make sure the values important to our community are reflected in the business and community practices of the real estate board,” said 2009 President Leah Shaw. “Adopting the Quality of Life philosophy represents a real commitment from REALTORS® to improve our community for families and business.”
The Quality of Life philosophy is a collection of five principles that will help to shape and guide the activities of REALTORS® and the Brampton Real Estate Board. The five principles that make up Quality of Life are:
1. Ensuring economic vitality
2. Providing housing opportunities
3. Preserving our environment
4. Protecting rights of property owners
5. Building better communities
“REALTORS® sell much more than homes: They sell the livability of their communities-they sell Quality of Life,” said Leah Shaw. “Everyone wants economic vitality, affordable housing, a safe and attractive community and a healthy environment. But these things don’t just happen.”
Over the coming weeks and months, local REALTORS® will be focusing on improving the Quality of Life in our community.
“It is our hope that by brining Quality of Life issues to the forefront, politicians and other decision makers will recognize the importance of these issues to the future of the community,” says Shaw. “As REALTORS®, we will continue to contribute to the betterment of the local community and help to educate residents about issues that impact the future.”

Why use two words when one is sufficient? Why risk clouding meaning when clarity is your goal? Get to the point quickly and use plain language. Wordiness takes more work on your part and it wastes your reader’s time. Meaning may be lost. Worse still, your audience may tune out completely.
